Step 1: Review documents

Ensure that your community meets the eligibility requirements outlined in the Program Overview document

) and ensure you have all the necessary information and supporting documentation to complete the form.

) to ensure that you understand how applications will be evaluated.

Step 2: Prepare application
Please complete the program application in its entirety; an incomplete application may result in your community not being selected.
In the third year of the program, 2015, up to 17 communities with the highest application scores will be selected for participation. All applicants will receive a written debrief on their application within six (6) weeks of the application deadline.
Applications submitted from communities that were not selected in the first two years of the program will be automatically considered for the third year of the program; eligible applicants will not be required to re-apply.
Step 3: Submit application

DEADLINE: Application must be received by January 31, 2015.
PLEASE REMEMBER: Application must be received online or by mail by the deadline, or the application may not be considered. Faxes will be accepted by the deadline, followed up by the submission of the original application by mail. For faxed applications, the First Nation must phone to confirm receipt.
The Independent Electricity System Operator may contact any applicant for additional information after the deadline. By submitting this application, you agree and acknowledge, on behalf of your community, that the IESO may select Communities at its sole discretion. The IESO’s decision is final and binding.
Next steps
You will be sent written confirmation of receipt of your Application by program staff by the same method by which you submitted your Application (email within one (1) business day or mail within three (3) business days).
Once your community’s Application has been reviewed and evaluated, you will receive a written notice confirming whether or not your community has been selected to participate in the ABORIGINAL CONSERVATION PROGRAM in the current year. You will receive this notice within six (6) weeks of the application deadline. If your Application is not selected, you will receive a debriefing on your application.
