First Nation Communities

The saveONenergy ABORIGINAL CONSERVATION PROGRAM for First Nation communities is modeled on the province-wide saveONenergy programs funded by the Independent Electricity System Operator. 

To participate in the program, First Nation communities must complete the application process. All Ontario First Nation communities are invited to apply.

The Program Manager selected 12 communities to participate in the first year, including 2 remote communities. An additional 17 communities were selected in the second year.

Métis and Urban Aboriginal Peoples

Métis and urban Aboriginal peoples are eligible for saveONenergy programs through their local electric utilities, and are encouraged to participate.

The ABORIGINAL CONSERVATION PROGRAM provides Métis and urban Aboriginal peoples with support and information to more easily access the LDC-delivered province -wide saveONenergy electricity conservation and demand management programs. The ABORIGINAL CONSERVATION PROGRAM Program Manager will host several community events to share information about the programs.
