Suggested Key Steps After Your FIT Application is Approved

After a project is approved, the suggested steps are:

  • finalize funding or financing as outlined in your business plan
  • finalize project design
  • finalize any approvals needed to move forward with construction.

Note that the number and types of approvals depend on the size and type of facility being constructed.
 
B After you have obtained the approvals, you can begin construction on the facility. Projects or activities needed to connect the facility to the transmission grid also should be started.

 Once construction is finished, the facility will need to obtain a licence before it begins to operate.

The facility can start operating after the licence has been obtained.
E The final step is to review and evaluate your project from beginning to end. You can use what you learn from this exercise to:
  • refine the community's energy plan
  • improve planning and development of your next initiative
  • identify other opportunities or challenges.
