July 22, 2016: Two Indigenous Communities Successful under the Aboriginal Community Energy Plan (ACEP) Program in Q2

The IESO continues to support First Nation and Métis participation in Ontario’s energy sector and has approved an additional two ACEP Proposals in the Second Quarter of 2016. These newly approved Indigenous communities will join the already 79 successful ACEP applicants involving 87 participating Indigenous communities, including remote, northern and southern First Nations.

2016 ACEP Proposals:

Interested applicants are reminded that the deadline for the next ACEP evaluation is October 7, 2016.  The Review Meeting for this final window of 2016 will take place between November 14th and November 18th, 2016

January 11, 2016: Revised ACEP Program Rules

Interested applicants are advised that the ACEP Program Rules have been revised as of January 11, 2016 and are now available here. A summary of changes has also been included for reference.

All ACEP Proposals submitted on January 11, 2016 onward will be subject to the revised ACEP v4.0 Rules as posted.

The Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) continues to support Indigenous communities in developing energy plans through the Aboriginal Community Energy Plan (ACEP) Program.

A community energy plan is a comprehensive long-term plan to improve energy efficiency, reduce electricity consumption and assess opportunities for renewable energy solutions.

The ACEP program accepts Proposals in two streams:
